Job Description Summary


Summary:
Assist the store manager in supervisory decisions that are consistent with Town Pump standards, policies, and procedures.
Assists in planning, leadership, organization, and follow-ups with controllable expenses, sales expenses, sales increases, food costs, and shortage controls.
Set the proper example for co-workers in terms of professionalism, attitude, and teamwork in the areas of customer service and store operations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND
Responsibilities:

  1. Interact with the public, providing exception customer service.
  2. Conduct new employee orientation and training.
    Promote the continued development of all employees.
  3. Objectively document performance and conduct evaluations.
  4. Conduct daily walk-throughs; effectively prioritize, organize, delegate, and follow-up on tasks to be accomplished.
  5. Control of cost inventories (accurate inventories).
  6. Control of scheduling and labor budget.
  7. Order and maintain deli merchandise.
  8. Merchandising, to include receiving, pricing, stocking, displaying, and stock rotating.
  9. Conduct maintenance in the deli area, to include basic preventive maintenance and repairs of deli equipment.
  10. Promote kitchen and store safety.
  11. Maintain highest quality standards in food preparation.
    Prepare deli items and cook heated items as required.
  12. Follow sanitation procedures.
  13. Achieve favorable deli metrics.
  14. Conduct market surveys as required.
  15. Check in deli vendors, cross check order, check items by line number.
    Put away order once received, watching for miss-picks, wrong pack sizes, and broken/open merchandise.
  16. Maintain PLUs, print list for tills.
  17. Keep product rotated, fresh, and check expiration dates.
    Remove and discard unauthorized product.
  18. Return unauthorized product to correct vendor.
  19. Return guaranteed items to correct vendor.
  20. Maintain correct and complete promo signage.

NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  1. Assist cashiers and manager as needed.
  2. Other duties as assigned by management

Qualification Requirements:

EDUCATION and/or
Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Additional experience should be in the area of supervision and food sales.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
Ability to write simple correspondence.
Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

COMPUTER SKILLS:
Prefer experience or knowledge of the following software:
MS Excel, MS Word and Company computer based program, PDI.

REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

REQUIRED CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

  • ServeSafe certification (may be waived by Deli Operations Manager)
  • Valid Driver s License with acceptable driving record

  • Ability to adhere to all safety rules.
  • Ability to wear proper uniform and maintain personal hygiene to meet all health standards.
  • Ability to arrive to work on time and prepared to begin shift.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job.
